Oscar Claude Monet

Pt England school has different subjects for each term.
Our term topic is Art Alive . The seniors at Pt England
school have rotations,the reason we have rotations is because each class we go
to,We learn different artist and styles. The artist that I have learnt about is Vincent Van Gogh,Oscar Claude Monet,Henri Matisse and last of all Picasso.

This week in Rm 18 we have been set, to take a picture of “my favourite” place and then draw it, using a style to inspire one of the artist we studied.

The artist style I selected to draw “my favourite place” is
Oscar Claude  Monet. I chose Oscar because he loves to paint nature,
so I said “this artist style is the best for my favourite place,it suits
perfectly”.Monet uses small strokes on his painting , from far it looks realistic
but up close you can see his strokes.

I hope my painting of “my favourite place “ comes out just like Oscar
Claude Monet, how he uses his strokes and how his colours blend in.

Pt England school has different subjects for each term. Our term topic is Art Alive. In my classroom (Rm 18), The students have been asked to  select a favourite place for our writing . My school is near the beach so my teacher, Mr Barks allowed us to go with his daughter Laurien to the beach and take photos for our writing .


When we got to the beach my friend Tule  and I were searching for our own favourite place. I went down to the beach to seek if anything interesting was there. Then I saw this beautiful big rock, It was a flat rock with a small tide pool in it, so I said to myself “this would be good for my favourite place writing”.


I chose this photo for my writing because it looks creative and also of the reflection and how the sun puts its sunlight on the beach.

I like how its got dark colours, and how its got
a nice shape and angel. It’s nice how the water flows on the rocks
also  how the white colour blends into the water.

Percy Jackson and the lightning thief

In my classroom, (Room 18) every student got put into reading groups.
My group is called the Trumps . Each group has a story to read ,
once they've read it then they have to write about the story, also their dislikes and likes.

My group novel story is called Percy Jackson and the lightning thief.

Percy Jackson is a person who gets into a lot of trouble.
A  few years ago, Percy was  a student at Boarding school , A school for troubled students .Percy got expelled from six schools .


Percy and his friends go on a mission to prevent a war between the gods Zeus, 
Poseidon and Hades.




My favourite part of the story, is the beginning . Percy Jackson told the readers
to close this book immediately and believe what ever lie your mom or dad told you, I said to myself "this story is quite funny" .

What I like about the story is how they use punctuation,I got to learn new punctuation.

When I grow up I want to be as good as this writer, using punctuation in the right place ,
capital letters on the right word.
