Silly Sports Day

During Wednesday the 24th of August we were having a competition of water splash, egg spoon, tag and sling shot. t was fun in Mr Harris' team ,we had to tie our feet together and hold the ball on the spoon. My partner was Jarna and we tied our feet together and we walked half way then we dropped the ball and then we had to start all over again. We fell, after we had to quit and go to the next game .

This game was with Miss Nua we have to get into teams, we were team number 1. We had two buckets in each team, one bucket in front and the other one at the back. The bucket in front had a sponge in it, it was filled with water and the other bucket at the back was empty. Our group was in between the two buckets in front and at the back.
What we had to do was pass the sponge side ways and under our legs then the person at the end squeezes the sponge in the empty bucket at the back. It would then come back to the front and start all over . Well we won !!!...

This game was with Miss Langitupu, we had to get some ribbons and put us into groups, I was in the red group but there was not enough in the blue group so I had to join it. I was embarrassed because I was the only girl there. What we had to do was tag the other person with the red ribbon then their out. It was a short time for us to get the red ribbon team out so that meant we won again. That also happened with the yellow teamS so we won two games in a row. Now it was the next game.

This game was Miss Tito, there were hula hoops spread all over the grass. I had to get a ball and there were two people holding the sling shot so I grabbed the ball and shot it with the sling shot. I aimed for the hula hoop and then we all cheered when it landed in the hula hoop but then it bounced off. We said "ohhh", we get 100 points if it landed in the hula hoop. We tried our best to land in the hula hoop but it never happened. Miss Vaafusuaga came and froze right in the middle of the hula hoops and said "if you get me you get 100 points" then we were so excited. We all tried aiming for her but we couldn't get her that was so shocking!!!. At the end one of us got her then our class said "yay!!!".

It was tiring and muddy mostly breathless.I was jogging because i new they would get tired,then i cached up but my friend was still in further in front of me.I keep caching up but she keeps going further.

Topic-Fun
The cross-country was fun and tiring, when we had to go around the farm we had to go through the mud the, funny part was when I stepped into the mud it was squishy,muddy and horrible .

When I first stepped into the mud while i was running it felt so sluggish it was Hilarius then the mud started to slime on my foot yuck.

Where in the world ?

The Brumbies were given a number of names of rugby-playing nations of the world. These were some of the nations that are recognised by the world governing body of Rugby Union, the International Rugby Board (IRB), as member unions but did not qualify for RWC 2011.
We divided them up amongst our team. I was given the nations listed below:GERMANY

1.Germany Flag

2. The continent that Germany is located in is Europe.

3.The capital city of Germany is Berlin.

4.The population of Germany is 81,471,834.

5.Germany's two main sports are rugby union and football.

“Where The Heck Is Remuera?”

Different Auckland town centres have adopted Rugby teams from countries that qualified for the World Cup.
I found out information about :
The location in Auckland;
Something special about this place;
A 'potted' history of the place;
If it has it's own symbol of some sort.
(If we couldn't find a symbol we chose a picture that told more about the place).

One of these places is Remuera.
Remuera is a place found in Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand. The suburb extends from Hobson Bay and the Orakei Basin. Remuera is shown by the symbol to south-east of Auckland.

Remuera has had a long history of human occupation, starting back in the early 14th century when the Maoris came to the area. They named the place O-hine-rangi - the place of Hinerangi (girl of the sky).

Keep Your Eye On The Ball.

We are using the nations of the 2011 Rugby World Cup as our inquiry path.

For this unit we are in one of four teams: Brumbies, Force, Rebels, Stormers. My team is Brumbies.

There will be a number of tasks for us to navigate to achieve our goal of an excellent result in this unit. There are a mixture of individual and team tasks to be completed. The main task that will show our learning in this unit will be a Hyperstudio presentation about one of the countries in the World Cup competition.
